The Mask
THE MASK - DIMENSIONS: 76" H x 15" W x 8" D. WEIGHT: 35 lbs. MATERIAL: Steel. VOLTAGE: 110V. BULBS: 11 5w bulbs. PRODUCTION TIME: Approximately 2 weeks. Standing well over 6 feet tall, this metal work of art will be noticed by anyone who enters the room. Its soft amber lights make the mask glow against any wall. Lights are also placed in the spearheads to highlight them as well. Bulbs can also be placed in sockets behind the eye openings to highlight the eye openings. The Mask pictured does not have bulbs in the eye sockets but, as you can see, the amber lights placed in the mask itself will highlight the eyes. If you look through the photos provided, you will see green bulbs placed in the eye openings to show you the effect of different colors. Flickering candlelight amber bulbs will bring a "haunting" look to the face as well. Hand cutting, bending, welding and assembly will take approximately 2-3 weeks. A process known as "coloring iron" brings brilliant hues to the iron and makes the features of the mask stand out. This process heats the metal to a very high temperature and must be done at exactly the right time to make the correct colors and effects. The mask will be signed and numbered by the artist and registered with the copyright office as a work of art/sculpture.
